Collaborations

We want to make sure that our approach to our services and our curriculum are shared throughout the community – and that they are always up-to-date and attuned to emerging techniques and best practices. With that in mind, 3LPlace partners closely with several universities and organizations in the Greater Boston area.

Some of our longterm partners include:

  • Tufts University. We frequently host interns from Tufts’ Department of Occupational Therapy, as part of their supervised fieldwork requirements.

  • Lesley University. Students from Lesley’s graduate expressive therapies programs and special education program often complete their extended clinical fieldwork requirements with us.

  • Boston University. Students from BU’s graduate programs in social work often intern with us.

  • Cambridge Health Alliance. CHA provides staff and curriculum as part of our ongoing healthy relationships and sexuality groups.

  • Triangle Abuse Prevention & Safety. TAPS provides abuse prevention, healthy relationships, and personal safety programming.

If you are interested in interning or volunteering at 3LPlace, please contact Caila Walsh (cwalsh@3lplace.org).

“As the parent of a neurodivergent child, I learned early on that building a life full of possibilities for my son would take persistence, creativity, and resilience.”

Tufts Mechanical Engineering

We’ve been partnering with Tufts University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering since 2021 to imagine assistive technologies that might be able to help members in their daily lives. Engineers from Tufts work with members and staff to identify and develop these student-led projects and inventions.
